I've
seen her drag herself before struggling to get on her feet.
We try
to keep her either on carpet or if outside on the grass to avoid
more sores on her feet and legs. Sometimes she can
get herself up into my chair without falling but more often than
not she waits for me to lift her.
She has fallen down the stairs many times trying to be where I
am when I'm outside or downstairs. Most of the time,
thankfully, she waits for me to help her down and back up. I
find it easiest to cradle her belly with my arm and walk
backwards down the stairs. Going up, I cradle her belly with my
left arm and lift her by her right leg. She used to make the
motion of walking when in this position but no longer does that.
On Tuesday, July 3, 2007 we helped our sweet Molly to the
Bridge.
Molly's spine was donated to Dr Coates' DM Research Project at the University of
Missouri.
Read about the research.
Update July 23, 2007
Dr Coates called today with Molly's Necropsy
Report. She definitely had
Degenerative Myelopothy. Her DNA will be used to
aid in research. |
